Super Easy Lasagna Recipe

Super easy lasagna is one of those meals everyone gets excited about.
When it bakes in the oven, the layers melt together into something warm, cozy, and incredibly satisfying.

Your family will love those cheesy, pizza-like flavors, and you’ll love how few ingredients it takes to make.
It’s a kid-friendly dinner that comes together fast and tastes like pure comfort.

For the Lasagna

  • Ground Beef – You’ll need 1 ½ pounds. This creates the hearty base of the sauce and gives the lasagna its “hamburger pizza” vibe.
  • Onion – Just ½ diced onion adds mild sweetness and savory depth when cooked with the beef.
  • Prego Spaghetti Sauce – Use two 24-oz jars (traditional works great). This is your rich, ready-to-go tomato sauce that brings everything together without extra seasoning.
  • Shredded Mozzarella – A full 5 cups for all that melty, bubbly cheese goodness layered throughout the dish.
  • Oven-Ready Lasagna Noodles – A 9-oz box. No boiling needed—these soften perfectly as the lasagna bakes.

  1. Do I need to boil the lasagna noodles first?
Nope! Oven-ready noodles go straight in. They soak up the sauce while baking and come out perfectly tender. One less pot to wash – winning!

  1. My sauce looks a bit thin… will the noodles still cook properly?
They sure will. Oven-ready noodles love a bit of extra moisture because that’s what softens them as they bake. As long as your sauce isn’t watery, you’re good to go.

  1. Can I make this lasagna ahead of time?
Absolutely. In fact, lasagna often tastes even better when assembled the night before. Cover it, pop it in the fridge, then bake when needed. Perfect for busy nights or entertaining.

  1. How do I keep the top from drying out?
Foil is your friend! Bake it covered so everything gets steamy and soft, then whip the foil off for the last bit so the cheese can get golden and bubbly. The best of both worlds.

  1. Does this freeze well?
Yes — beautifully. Freeze it baked or unbaked. For reheating slices, add a spoonful of extra sauce and microwave or bake until hot. It’s one of those dishes that tastes just as good (sometimes better!) the next day.
