1. Can I swap the chicken strips for full chicken breasts or thighs?

Absolutely! Breast, thigh, tenders — they all work. Just keep an eye on the cook time. Breasts can dry out quicker, so don’t overdo it. Thighs stay juicier for longer, so they’re a great “can’t-mess-this-up” option.

2. How long should I marinate the chicken for the best flavor?

The longer, the better! Overnight = flavour city. But if you’re in a mad rush, even 30 minutes will still make a noticeable difference. The yogurt works fast to tenderize the chicken, so you’ll get great results either way.

3. My tzatziki came out watery — what went wrong?

Cucumber! It holds a ton of water. Make sure you squeeze it like you mean it after grating. Twist it in a kitchen towel or paper towels until it stops dripping. Thick yogurt + well-drained cucumber = dreamy, scoopable tzatziki.

4. I don’t have a grill — can I still make this?

Yep! A stovetop grill pan works beautifully, but a regular skillet does the job too. You’ll still get golden edges and loads of flavor. And in a pinch? Oven-baking is a totally valid, weeknight-friendly move.

5. How do I get those gorgeous crispy charred edges on the chicken?

High heat is your friend! Make sure the chicken isn’t drowning in marinade when it hits the pan. Let it sear, resist the urge to move it too soon, and if you want extra char, finish with 1–2 minutes under the broiler. Boom — gyro-shop vibes at home.
