Notes

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh strawberries
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the strawberries, remove the stems, and slice them as thinly as you like. You may also chop them if preferred. Transfer half of the strawberries into a medium-sized pot.
  2. Add the sugar and freshly squeezed lemon juice. Stir everything together until combined.
  3. Place the pot over heat and bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Let it cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then add the remaining strawberries and continue cooking for another 2 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and allow the sauce to cool. Once cooled, transfer it into a mason jar for storage.
Tips
  • Cut the strawberries to your desired size—thin slices, chunks, or even mashed.
  • Try mixing in other berries like blackberries or blueberries for added flavor and color.
  • If you prefer a sweeter sauce, increase the amount of sugar.
