Notes
Recipe Notes
Butter: Make sure the butter is softened to room temperature before mixing. This helps it blend smoothly into the yolks and gives the filling its extra-creamy texture.
Make ahead: You can assemble the deviled eggs up to 1 day in advance. Keep them covered in an airtight container in the refrigerator until serving.
Prep 2 days ahead: Prepare the egg whites and filling separately and refrigerate both in airtight containers. Stir the filling and assemble the eggs when you're ready to serve.
Smooth filling: Mash the yolks and filling ingredients thoroughly with a fork. For a prettier finish, you can pipe the filling into the egg whites instead of spooning it in.
Toppings: Paprika is the classic finish. Add the optional bacon pieces or a small slice of sweet gherkin pickle for a little extra flavor and texture.
Storage: Keep leftover deviled eggs refrigerated in an airtight container. For food safety, don't leave them at room temperature for more than 2 hours.
