Easy Air Fryer Blueberry Pie Bombs

Soft biscuit dough wrapped around a juicy blueberry center makes these little air-fried treats simple, warm, and satisfying. A coating of melted butter and granulated sugar gives the outside a lightly sweet finish as the dough turns golden in the air fryer.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (8-count) Pillsbury Grand biscuits, not flaky layers
  • 1 cup (262 g) blueberry pie filling, store-bought or homemade
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick / 113 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar

Instructions

  • Open the biscuit can. Carefully split each of the 8 biscuits horizontally into two separate layers, giving you 16 pieces of dough. Press each piece into a 4-inch circle.
  • Place about 1 tablespoon of blueberry pie filling in the middle of each dough circle.
  • Bring the edges of the dough up and around the filling. Pinch the edges firmly together so the filling is enclosed, then gently form each filled piece into a ball.
  • Coat both the top and bottom of every ball with melted butter, then sprinkle each one with granulated sugar.
  • Coat the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Arrange the filled dough balls in the basket in batches, leaving about 2 inches of space between them.
  • Air fry at 330°F for 7–8 minutes, or until the outside is golden brown. Serve warm.

Notes

Recipe Notes

  • Biscuits: Use Pillsbury Grand biscuits, making sure to choose the non-flaky layers variety. Each biscuit is separated into two layers to make 16 pie bombs.
  • Blueberry filling: You can use either store-bought or homemade blueberry pie filling. Keep it to about 1 tablespoon per pie bomb so the dough is easier to seal.
  • Seal them well: Pinch the dough firmly around the filling before shaping it into a ball. This helps prevent the blueberry filling from escaping during cooking.
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer: Leave about 2 inches between each pie bomb and cook in batches as needed so the hot air can circulate.
  • Oven option: No air fryer? Place the prepared pie bombs in a muffin tin sprayed with nonstick cooking spray and bake at 375°F for 12–14 minutes.
  • Serve warm: These are best enjoyed warm, when the biscuit dough is tender and the blueberry filling is soft and gooey.
