This smooth, tangy dressing blends fresh herbs, citrus, and a hint of heat into a rich, pourable sauce. It’s perfect for drizzling, dipping, or adding bold flavor to your favorite meals.
1 jalapeno (seeds removed for mild heat, roughly chopped)
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice (about 1/2 of a lime)
2 cloves garlic
Instructions
Place all ingredients into a blender, following the order listed above. Blend on high speed for at least 1 minute, or until the mixture is fully smooth and well combined.
Transfer the dressing to a covered container (such as Tupperware) and refrigerate for a minimum of 4 hours before serving.
This dressing can also be prepared in advance and chilled overnight.
For a thinner consistency, add a bit more buttermilk if desired. Do not exceed 1 cup total.
Additional Notes
Yield: About 2.5 cups of dressing
Serving Size: 1/4 cup (approximately 10 servings total)
Tomatillos: Found in the produce section near cilantro and jalapeños. Remove the outer husk before cutting.
Jalapeño: For less heat, remove seeds and membranes. For more spice, include them.
Mayonnaise: Full-fat provides the best flavor and texture.
Refrigeration: Chilling is essential for flavor development—allow at least 4 hours before serving.
